Considered engineering for ambitious systems.
A multidisciplinary studio designing software, AI, and automation systems for the people who run buildings, factories, homes, and labs.

We're builders first. Each engagement is staffed end-to-end by the people who will deliver it — no hand-offs to a faceless bench. Our work spans software architecture, embedded and physical systems, automation, and the kind of applied research that moves a roadmap forward.
Below is a working index. Most engagements draw on two or three of these in combination — a control-system rewrite that needs new firmware, a research proposal that has to terminate in working hardware, a master-plan that has to actually be built.
Software consulting
Architecture, technical review, and senior-level engineering for teams that need a calmer, more rigorous second opinion — or a hands-on collaborator.
02Home automation
Resort-scale residential systems — intelligent control, integrated security, whole-property audio & video distribution, and an on-premise AI layer that learns the property.
03Industrial automation
PLC, SCADA, and modern data layers integrated into a coherent stack — from the field bus up to the dashboard the operator actually trusts.
04Master planning
Strategic technical roadmaps for capital projects: phased rollouts, site layouts, vendor strategy, and risk-budgeted schedules.
05Design studies & proposals
Fixed-scope studies that turn a vague brief into a defensible direction — research, prototypes, costed options, and a written recommendation.
06Applied R&D
Multidisciplinary research engagements where the deliverable is something that works — not just a paper. Sensors, novel control, instrumentation.
07AI consulting
Helping companies introduce AI into existing workflows — agentic systems, evaluations, governance, and the operational discipline to ship it safely.

Detailed deliverables, engagement models, and timelines for every line of work above.
Most engineering goes wrong long before the first line of code or the first weld. It goes wrong in what wasn't asked, what wasn't measured, and what wasn't written down.
Our method is unhurried on purpose. We open every engagement with discovery — the problem in the client's words, the constraints we'll have to live with — then commit it to a written brief that everyone signs. From there we move in deliberate stages — study, build, instrument, hand off — with documentation and review gates between each.
The result is systems that are inspectable, recoverable, and easy to operate long after the people who built them have moved on.
Build for the operator, not the demo. The system that wins is the one a tired technician can fix at 2 AM with a flashlight and the documentation we wrote.
Optimism is a discipline. We assume problems are solvable, that the right answer exists, and that careful work is what gets you to it.
Knowledge is owed to the client. Every system we build is delivered with the documents, drawings, and reasoning a future team will need to own it without us.
